This process involves winding resin-impregnated fiber material around a ‘mandrel’ to create composite products which are typically cylindrical but can be conical or spherical in shape.

Prior to winding, the fiber material is impregnated with the resin system. The deposition angle of the fiber material plays an important role in the final properties of the composite structure.

After winding a required number of layers, a ‘mandrel’ with the coiled layers is placed in the heating furnace for further polymerization.
